PUTT& CHIP FOR FREE

Most golfers don’t realize that it’s ‘free’ to practice chipping and putting at any public golf facility in North America. And since most, if not all, teaching pros contend that 70% of the game is played from 100 yards and in (with putting comprising 43%) the short game is definitely the most important part of golf. So, whenever you go to a public golf course you should get in the habit of using the ‘short game’ practice area and hone your skills in close to the green. You should also get in the habit of asking pro shop personnel if there are any additional short game areas close by; possibly a longer pitching area and/or a practice bunker. Going to the driving range is certainly convenient but practice at the range only deals with the power side of the game. So get a shag-bag of your own balls and start wearing them out.
